Guided Reading

What a fantastic guided reading session I’ve had today with Brown group.
We have been reading Oliver over the last few weeks and today we have been thinking of open questions to hot seat Oliver. The whole group did a fantastic job but I was especially pleased with the way the took to the hotseat and used inference to answer the questions.

British Values

In circle time this week we have been thinking value about what it means to be British and what British values are.
It was really interesting to hear all the ideas
Bilal told us about how important our laws are and we decided that Watercliffe’s golden rules were like the laws in our country.
Chloe and Zewer talked about all the different types of people and cultures we have in our country and how we can learn from each other.
Casey said that being British meant not laughing at people and listening to each other and after this the class had a great discussion and what it means to be respectful.
We are going to be doing lots more work on British values over the next term.

Stongehenge

In Year 3, we have had a good go at creating a model of Stonehenge out of clay. We had to learn together to ensure that it would stay outright. As well as using our clay skills, we used some of our onomatopoeia words from our literacy poems and scribed them into the clay.

Here are two examples:
