What a fantastic guided reading session I’ve had today with Brown group.
We have been reading Oliver over the last few weeks and today we have been thinking of open questions to hot seat Oliver. The whole group did a fantastic job but I was especially pleased with the way the took to the hotseat and used inference to answer the questions.
In circle time this week we have been thinking value about what it means to be British and what British values are.
It was really interesting to hear all the ideas
Bilal told us about how important our laws are and we decided that Watercliffe’s golden rules were like the laws in our country.
Chloe and Zewer talked about all the different types of people and cultures we have in our country and how we can learn from each other.
Casey said that being British meant not laughing at people and listening to each other and after this the class had a great discussion and what it means to be respectful.
We are going to be doing lots more work on British values over the next term.

we are trying a new approach to learning our spellings in class using our bodies to help learn the spelling patterns.
