Golden time badges

Well done to everyone who got a special badge for losing no golden time in the last term (since Christmas). Hopefully we will have a whole class full next term!

Star readers

A big well done to all our reading miles badge winners in Y3AE! They all achieved 40 or more reads since Christmas!

Easter learning

This week in Y3, we are recapping the Easter story and learning why the cross is such an important symbol to Christians. Today we sequenced the Easter story.

In maths we are continuing our learning about fractions and finding fractions of amounts.

Y3AE superstars

Special shout outs to a few people this week!

It was Yezids turn at getting full marks on all his tests this week! He’s been so close to 24/24 for weeks now on the beat that test so a big well done to him!

James, Joseph and Chloe all made it on to the Taekwondo rocket after lots of hard work on their times tables!

Ahmed was on fire on Friday, passing his 2, 5 and 3 taekwondos! Well done Ahmed!

Egyptian Cinderella

This week in Y3 we have been writing the story of Egyptian Cinderella using speech.

We are so amazed at the vocabulary and use of punctuation that the children have used. Here’s a few examples but please do come and ask for their Literacy books to have a look at your child’s writing!

This term in PE we are learning how to play rounders. Last week we practised under arm and over arm throws, this week we’ve been practising bowling and batting the ball.

Catch up on the week

Miss Edwards has finally figured out how to upload photos to the blog again after a bit of a malfunction so here’s a catch up on the week…

Ahmed made a bird house with Mr Allsopp in forest schools on Monday. They made it completely out of recycled materials, including an inner tube of a bicycle tyre for a hinge!

Y3AE have begun a brand new chapter book in guided reading. It’s called The Imaginary and was written by A F Harold who visited us last year! We’re loving it so far – it’s a bit spooky in parts!

In Literacy we’ve continued looking at the story of Egyptian Cinderella. She’s called Rhodopis and we’ve been creating freeze frames of the story to help us better understand it (see above). We’ll be rewriting the story in detail with speech added in next week!
